The fundamentals for safe working environments

Remmers floor coverings are solvent-free and physiologically safe after curing. The suitability as an application for seamless floors in the food industry and in car parks have been tested and confirmed by external institutes. The systems are distinguished thanks to their high mechanical and good chemical resistance.

Efficient systems can be created from a combination of special epoxy resin binding agents and fillers that are suitable for various application areas. Flexible and safe at the same time – Remmers Crete PU-concrete is the perfect combination of water based polyol emulsion and polyurethane binding agent made of polymer MDI. This makes the floor extremely resistant to thermal, chemical and mechanical loads.

But even where there are no high mechanical requirements, the Remmers product range with its unique sealants offers a variety of possibilities to meet the requirements of “decorative and slip-resistant” flooring.

Thanks to these and many other properties, these products and systems have proven themselves for decades as excellent flooring systems in the industry where anti-slip and ease of cleaning must go hand in hand.

Industrial floors – floors for various environments

Industrial floor systems can be found in all major sectors. That is why we, along with our experienced partners, have been providing support to a wide range of industrial sectors from automobile or mechanical engineering through to pharmaceutical and other industrial sectors where floors need to keep what they promise and meet certain criteria.

An important success factor is the durability of an industrial floor. The most common mechanical loads to which floors are exposed are: traffic, impact, abrasion or point loads. This is why floor systems need to be specifically selected and applied for the individual loads.

In addition, chemical resistance is becoming increasingly important loads with respect to the stricter ground and water pollution control regulations (WHG § 62/63). Numerous chemicals are used in industrial applications and these can impact heavily on the floor substrate. These include oils, greases, fuels and soluble salts through to various alkalis, very caustic acids and aggressive cleaning agents. The concentration of chemicals in combination with the temperature conditions create a base for selecting the optimum industrial floor.

FeRFA Types of synthetic resin flooring

Type
Name Description Duty Thickness
1 Floor Seal Applied in two or more coats. Generally solvent or water borne. LD up to 150 μm
2 Floor Coating Applied in two or more coats. Generally solvent free. LD/MD 150 μm to 300 μm
3 High Build Floor Coating Applied in two or more coats. Generally solvent free. MD 300 μm to 1000 μm
4 Multi-layer Flooring Aggregate dressed systems based on multiple layers of floor coatings or flow-applied floorings, often described as ‘sandwich’ systems. MD/HD 2 mm
5 Flow Applied Flooring Often referred to as ‘self-smoothing’ or ‘self-levelling’ flooring and having a smooth surface. MD/HD 2 mm to 3 mm
6 Resin Screed Flooring Trowel-finished, heavily filled systems, generally incorporating a surface seal coat to minimize porosity. MD/HD > 4 mm
7 Heavy Duty Flowable Flooring Having a smooth surface. HD/VHD 4 mm to 6 mm
8 Heavy Duty Resin Flooring Trowel-finished, aggregate filled systems effectively impervious throughout their thickness. VHD > 6 mm

Sustainable car park solutions on all levels

Today’s car parks must be extremely durable and robust so that their use is guaranteed for many years. Due to the daily exposure, car park and parking deck surfaces are subject to heavy, thermal and chemical loads which wear out and eventually become damaged or destroyed over time. The loads are caused by, among other things, the penetration of water and, in winter, de-icing salts. In addition, the vehicles also increase the CO₂ concentration due to their exhaust gases. When concretes surfaces are driven over, vibrations are created leading to fine cracks. This allows pollutants to penetrate more easily and create faster damage to the reinforcement steel and concrete.

We supply tested and long-standing, proven surface protection systems for this extreme usage. Our systems are not just used in new construction buildings, but also for restoration and repair projects where they are often the most sustainable solution for protecting the concrete structure. That is why we not only offer our certified products, but we also support you with analysis and advice for your repair project so that the concept represents a sustainable solution on all levels.

National and international references verify the durability of the our car park surface protection systems.

Low-emission floor coatings for your requirements

A floor should not only be able to withstand rising damp or heavy loads, but also present no harm to the air quality in the room. The emission of volatile organic compounds (VOC) can contaminate the room air and be harmful to health. To eliminate this, we offer a complete VOC-tested product range that corresponds to the stringent criteria of the AgBB. The entire coating structure is assessed by the independent and accredited testing institutes in test chambers, and checked in annual random checks.

Our systems not only water based coatings, we also have a large range of polyurethane and epoxy-resin coatings which also have a general technical approval. This increases the flexibility even in the planning phase so that all requirements can be taken into account and the building owner receives the system best suited for their needs.

Sustainability – the simple maintenance, lower material consumption and durability contribute to the positive ecological footprint of an industrial floor. Thanks to these properties they have a much lower impact on the environment than many other covering types. Corresponding national and international declarations of conformity (e.g. DGNB / LEED certificates) give users and investors assurance with regard to sustainability.
